NC_000016.10:c.(605+1_606-1)_(1056+1_1057-1)dup was classified as Uncertain significance for Cystic hygroma; Gonadal dysgenesis; Seizure; Global developmental delay; Inguinal hernia; Developmental and epileptic encephalopathy, 28 by Foundation for Research in Genetics and Endocrinology, FRIGE's Institute of Human Genetics, citing ACMG Guidelines, 2015: A duplication of size ~149.38 Kb, on chromosome 16 [chr16:g.(78386949_78424869)_(78432753_79211607)dup], comprising of the exon 7 and 8 of WWOX gene [c.(605+1_606-1)_(1056+1_1057-1); ENST00000566780.6], suggestive of a copy number variant was detected. Duplication involving the WWOX gene have also been reported in patients with epileptic encephalopathy characterized by absence of language development and acquisition of walking, early-onset drug-resistant seizures [PMID: 30356099]. The results are likely to be suggestive of a homozygous duplication (copy number gain).
