Pathogenic for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000001.10:g.(?_12056193)_(12056395_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with MFN2-related conditions. This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 5 of the MFN2 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in MFN2 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 16714318, 16835246, 21715711, 23781337, 26955893).
