Pathogenic for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, kyphoscoliotic type 1 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000001.10:g.(?_12030707)_(12030937_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 17 of the PLOD1 gene. This variant would be expected to be in-frame, preserving the integrity of the reading frame. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome kyphoscoliotic type (PMID: 9450904, 15666309). In at least one individual the data is consistent with being in trans (on the opposite chromosome) from a pathogenic variant. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
