Pathogenic for Neuromuscular disease caused by qualitative or quantitative defects of dysferlin — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000002.11:g.(?_71895864)_(71901446_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 48-51 of the DYSF gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in DYSF are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 17698709, 20301480). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with DYSF-related conditions. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
