Pathogenic for Hereditary spastic paraplegia 4 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000002.11:g.(?_32323845)_(32352111_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 4-8 of the SPAST gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in SPAST are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 20932283). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with SPAST-related conditions. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
