NC_000003.11:g.(?_4403828)_(4508929_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Multiple sulfatase deficiency by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the SUMF1 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in SUMF1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 12757705, 12757706, 25885655). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with SUMF1-related conditions. Experimental studies and prediction algorithms are not available or were not evaluated, and the functional significance of this variant is currently unknown. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
