Pathogenic for Multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000004.11:g.(?_159593609)_(159603596_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 1-3 of the ETFDH gene, which includes the initiator codon. This deletion extends beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. It is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in ETFDH are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 16510302, 23785301). A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with multiple acyl-CoA dehydrogenase deficiency (Invitae). Experimental studies and prediction algorithms are not available or were not evaluated, and the functional significance of this variant is currently unknown. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
