Pathogenic for Maple syrup urine disease — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000006.11:g.(?_79650410)_(81053521_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the BCKDHB gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in BCKDHB are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 16786533, 22593002). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with maple syrup urine disease (PMID: 29740478). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
