Pathogenic for Bardet-Biedl syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000007.13:g.(?_33423258)_(33427776_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 18-19 of the BBS9 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in BBS9 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 16380913, 20177705). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with BBS9-related conditions. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
