Pathogenic for Cystic fibrosis — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000007.13:g.(?_117176587)_(117199719_?)dup, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant results in a copy number gain of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 7-11 of the CFTR gene. While the exact position of this variant cannot be determined from the data, sub-genic copy number gains are generally in tandem (PMID: 25640679). This variant is predicted to be out-of-frame, and may result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in CFTR are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 1695717, 7691345, 9725922). A similar copy number variant has been observed in individuals with cystic fibrosis (PMID: 17690208, 20052766; Invitae). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
