NC_000008.10:g.(?_19796952)_(19822821_?)del was classified as Pathogenic by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the LPL gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in LPL are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 11334614). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with lipidemia (PMID: 24142281). In at least one individual the data is consistent with being in trans (on the opposite chromosome) from a pathogenic variant. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
