Uncertain significance — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000011.9:g.(?_17514689)_(17519726_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with USH1C-related conditions. This variant results in the deletion of part of exon 19 and exons 20-21 (c.1573_*1222delinsTGG) of the USH1C gene. While this deletion is not anticipated to lead to nonsense mediated decay, it is expected to alter mRNA translation or result in a truncated protein product. Experimental studies and prediction algorithms are not available or were not evaluated, and the functional significance of this variant is currently unknown. In summary, the available evidence is currently insufficient to determine the role of this variant in disease. Therefore, it has been classified as a Variant of Uncertain Significance.
