NC_000011.9:g.(?_108196125)_(108281972_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Ataxia-telangiectasia syndrome by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant disrupts the C-terminus of the ATM protein. Other variant(s) that disrupt this region (p.Arg3047*) have been determined to be pathogenic (PMID: 8755918, 19691550, 18560558, 10980530, 26628246, 19431188). This suggests that variants that disrupt this region of the protein are likely to be causative of disease. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals with ATM-related conditions. This variant is a deletion of the genomic region encompassing exons 47-63 and part of exon 46 (c.6660_*45737del) of the ATM gene. While this is not anticipated to result in nonsense mediated decay, it likely alters RNA splicing and results in a disrupted protein product.
