NC_000012.11:g.(?_48238529)_(48539491_?)del was classified as Pathogenic by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the COL2A1 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in COL2A1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 20179744). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with autosomal dominant Stickler syndrome (PMID: 12204008). It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
