Pathogenic for Bailey-Bloch congenital myopathy — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000012.11:g.(?_57641889)_(57642001_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 5 of the STAC3 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in STAC3 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 28411587, 28777491). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with STAC3-related conditions. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
