Pathogenic for Hereditary pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000014.8:g.(?_65543194)_(65569057_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the MAX gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in MAX are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 21685915, 26070438). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with pheochromocytoma (PMID: 22452945).
