NC_000014.8:g.(?_88401076)_(88459508_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Galactosylceramide beta-galactosidase deficiency by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the GALC gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in GALC are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 7437911, 9272171, 16607461). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with GALC-related conditions.
