Pathogenic for Progressive sclerosing poliodystrophy — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000015.9:g.(?_89862162)_(89864159_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with POLG-related conditions. This variant results in the deletion of exons 19-20 and part of exon 18 (c.2819_3273del) of the POLG gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in POLG are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 18546365).
