Pathogenic for Angelman syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000015.9:g.(?_25584284)_(25650609_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the UBE3A gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in UBE3A are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 25212744). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. Isolated whole-gene deletions of UBE3A have not been reported in the literature. However, larger copy number events that include this gene have been reported (PMID: 12210318, 18821858, 22190369, 25099823). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
