Pathogenic for Hereditary spastic paraplegia 7 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000016.9:g.(?_89576878)_(89577020_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with autosomal recessive hereditary spastic paraplegia 7 (PMID: 32161564). This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 2 of the SPG7 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in SPG7 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 21623769, 22964162).
