Pathogenic for Inborn genetic diseases; Ocular cystinosis; Juvenile nephropathic cystinosis — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000017.10:g.(?_3520391)_(3558524_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with CTNS-related conditions. This variant results in the deletion of exons 1-6 and part of exon 7 (c.-19964_339del) of the CTNS gene. It is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in CTNS are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 9537412, 27102039).
