NC_000017.10:g.(?_78092582)_(78096154_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Glycogen storage disease, type II by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant disrupts a region of the GAA protein in which other variant(s) (p.Tyr928Cys) have been determined to be pathogenic (PMID: 29122469, 33741225). This suggests that this is a clinically significant region of the protein, and that variants that disrupt it are likely to be disease-causing. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with GAA-related conditions. This variant results in the deletion of exon 20 and part of exon 19 (c.2777_*3024del) of the GAA gene. While this deletion is not anticipated to lead to nonsense mediated decay, it is expected to alter mRNA translation or result in a truncated protein product.
