Submitter rationale: This sequence change affects an acceptor splice site in intron 8 of the WNK1 gene. However, it is currently unclear if variants that occur in this region of the gene cause disease. This variant is present in population databases (no rsID available, gnomAD 0.06%). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with WNK1-related conditions. ClinVar contains an entry for this variant (Variation ID: 2950394). Variants that disrupt the consensus splice site are a relatively common cause of aberrant splicing (PMID: 17576681, 9536098).
