Submitter rationale: This sequence change replaces valine, which is neutral and non-polar, with isoleucine, which is neutral and non-polar, at codon 52 of the DSC2 protein (p.Val52Ile). This variant also falls at the last nucleotide of exon 2, which is part of the consensus splice site for this exon. This variant is present in population databases (rs757588306, gnomAD 0.0009%). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with DSC2-related conditions.
