Pathogenic for Familial intrahepatic cholestasis — the classification assigned by Genomenon, Inc, Genomenon, Inc to NM_003742.4(ABCB11):c.22C>T (p.Arg8Ter), citing Genomenon Sequence Variant Interpretation Standards - Updated: ABCB11 p.Arg8Ter (c.22C>T) is a nonsense variant that introduces a premature stop codon at amino acid position 8, creating a truncated protein that may be subject to nonsense-mediated mRNA decay. This variant has been observed in at least one proband with an ABCB11-related disorder (PMID:38341604;37697751;36995996;32087350;28733223). It is absent or not present at a significant frequency in gnomAD. In conclusion, we classify ABCB11 p.Arg8Ter (c.22C>T) as a pathogenic variant.
