This variant lies in the MSH2 gene (transcript NM_000251.3) at coding-DNA position 1229, where G is replaced by A; at the protein level this means replaces glycine at residue 410 with aspartic acid — a missense variant. Submitter rationale: The p.G410D variant (also known as c.1229G>A), located in coding exon 7 of the MSH2 gene, results from a G to A substitution at nucleotide position 1229. The glycine at codon 410 is replaced by aspartic acid, an amino acid with similar properties.
