Submitter rationale: This sequence change replaces methionine, which is neutral and non-polar, with isoleucine, which is neutral and non-polar, at codon 1645 of the SCN8A protein (p.Met1645Ile). This variant is not present in population databases (gnomAD no frequency). This missense change has been observed in individual(s) with SCN8A-related conditions (PMID: 26544041). In at least one individual the variant was observed to be de novo.
