Pathogenic for Fucosidosis — the classification assigned by Neuberg Centre For Genomic Medicine, NCGM to NM_000147.5(FUCA1):c.1057G>T (p.Glu353Ter), citing ACMG Guidelines, 2015: The stop gained variant c.1057G>T (p.Glu353Ter) in FUCA1 gene has previously been reported in individual(s) affected with Fucosidosis (Gowda et al., 2020). This sequence change creates a premature translational stop signal (p.Glu353Ter) in the FUCA1 gene. This variant is predicted to cause loss of normal protein function through protein truncation. Loss of function variants in FUCA1 is known to be disease causing (Willems et al., 1999). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
