A presumed nomenclature of c.(6614+1_6615-1)_(6762+1_6763-1)dup has been designated for the purposes of this classification. It is assumed to be a tandem duplication in direct orientation (Richardson_GIM_2018, Newman_AJHG_2015). This Copy Number Variant (CNV) is expected to alter the reading frame and predicted to result in a truncation or absence of the encoded protein due to nonsense mediated decay (NMD). The variant was absent in 15299 control chromosomes. The available data on variant occurrences in the general population are insufficient to allow any conclusion about variant significance. c.(6614+1_6615-1)_(6762+1_6763-1)dup has been reported in the literature in at least one individual affected with Dystrophinopathies (Li_2015). To our knowledge, no experimental evidence demonstrating an impact on protein function has been reported.
