This variant is not present in population databases (gnomAD no frequency). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant disrupts a region of the EYS protein in which other variant(s) (p.Tyr3135*) have been determined to be pathogenic (PMID: 18976725, 29159838, 30337596, 31074760). This suggests that this is a clinically significant region of the protein, and that variants that disrupt it are likely to be disease-causing. This premature translational stop signal has been observed in individual(s) with retinitis pigmentosa (PMID: 25356976).
