Four of five in-silico tools predict a damaging effect of the variant on protein function. The variant allele was found at a frequency of 8e-06 in 251128 control chromosomes. To our knowledge, no occurrence of c.59G>A in individuals affected with Fanconi-Bickel syndrome has been reported. At least one publication reports experimental evidence evaluating an impact on protein function showing lack of expression of the protein resulting in decrease of glucose transport(Michau_2013).
