NM_000245.4(MET):c.3633-2A>G was classified as Uncertain significance for Renal cell carcinoma by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This sequence change affects an acceptor splice site in intron 18 of the MET gene. It is expected to disrupt mRNA splicing and likely results in an absent or disrupted protein product. While this particular variant has not been reported in the literature, truncating variants in MET are not necessarily pathogenic (PMID: 9140397), and the clinical significance of this variant is uncertain at this time. In summary, this is a novel variant and without additional functional and/or genetic data, it has been classified as a Variant of Uncertain Significance.
