Pathogenic for Early-infantile DEE — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000020.10:g.(?_61978090)_(62324656_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the KCNQ2 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in KCNQ2 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 14534157, 23692823, 27779742). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. Isolated whole-gene deletions of KCNQ2 have not been reported in the literature. However, larger copy number events that include this gene have been reported (PMID: 19822871, 23360469, 24811917). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
