NC_000010.10:g.(?_48413578)_(48416693_?)del was classified as Pathogenic for Telangiectasia, hereditary hemorrhagic, type 5 by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the GDF2 gene has been identified. The current clinical and genetic evidence is not sufficient to establish whether loss-of-function variants in GDF2 cause disease. The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individuals with autosomal dominant pulmonary arterial hypertension (Invitae). Larger copy number events that include this gene have also been reported (PMID: 31661308). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
