Pathogenic for Nephronophthisis — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000001.10:g.(?_5950908)_(5951108_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with NPHP4-related conditions. This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 17 of the NPHP4 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in NPHP4 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 12205563, 23559409).
