Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000017.10:g.(?_79891090)_(80333370_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the PYCR1 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in PYCR1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 19648921). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with clinical features of autosomal recessive cutis laxa (PMID: 21487760). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
