Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000011.9:g.(?_17522588)_(17527506_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 16-18 of the USH1C gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in USH1C are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 10973247, 17407589, 20301442, 21203349). This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with USH1C-related conditions. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
