Pathogenic for Duchenne muscular dystrophy — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.10:g.(?_31140036)_(33229429_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the DMD gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in DMD are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 16770791, 25007885). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with DMD-related conditions (PMID: 19084397, 22234188). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
