Pathogenic for Neuromuscular disease caused by qualitative or quantitative defects of dysferlin — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000002.11:g.(?_71827822)_(71827982_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with DYSF-related conditions. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant disrupts a region of the DYSF protein in which other variant(s) (p.Gly1268Arg) have been determined to be pathogenic (PMID: 15827562). This suggests that this is a clinically significant region of the protein, and that variants that disrupt it are likely to be disease-causing. This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 34 of the DYSF gene. This variant would be expected to be in-frame, preserving the integrity of the reading frame.
