Pathogenic for Short-rib thoracic dysplasia 14 with polydactyly; Joubert syndrome 23 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000014.8:g.(?_58938897)_(58941535_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with KIAA0586-related conditions. This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 20-21 of the KIAA0586 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in KIAA0586 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 26096313, 26166481, 26386044).
