Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000007.13:g.(?_107312573)_(107315564_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 4-6 of the SLC26A4 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in SLC26A4 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 16283880, 25394566, 26252218, 26445815). A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with Pendred syndrome (PMID: 18285825, 24860705). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
