Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.10:g.(?_85119635)_(85302644_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the CHM gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in CHM are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 9067750, 23811034). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with choroideremia (PMID: 7981671, 8749050, 17698759, 21905166, 23811034, 26133251). It has also been observed to segregate with disease in related individuals. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
