Pathogenic — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.10:g.(?_18665301)_(18665462_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 4 of the RS1 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in RS1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 9618178, 17172462). A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with X-linked retinoschisis (PMID: 29739629). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
