Pathogenic for Mucopolysaccharidosis, MPS-III-A — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000017.10:g.(?_78188510)_(78190896_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with SGSH-related conditions. This variant results in the deletion of exon 3 and parts of exons 2 and 4 (c.184_410del) of the SGSH gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in SGSH are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 11182930, 21204211, 22976768).
