Pathogenic for GTP cyclohydrolase I deficiency; Dystonia 5 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000014.8:g.(?_54410919)_(55369403_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): A gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing the full coding sequence of the GCH1 gene has been identified. Loss-of-function variants in GCH1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 9667588, 19332422, 19491146, 25557619). The boundaries of this event are unknown as they extend beyond the assayed region for this gene and therefore may encompass additional genes. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individual(s) with dopa-responsive dystonia (PMID: 17111153). For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
