Pathogenic for Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, classic type, 1 — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000009.11:g.(?_137591735)_(137593199_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with COL5A1-related conditions. This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 3-4 of the COL5A1 gene. This deletion is out-of-frame, and is expected to create a premature termination codon and result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in COL5A1 are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 23587214).
