Pathogenic for Kennedy disease; Androgen resistance syndrome — the classification assigned by Labcorp Genetics (formerly Invitae), Labcorp to NC_000023.10:g.(?_66788225)_(67021550_?)del, citing Invitae Variant Classification Sherloc (09022015): This variant is a gross deletion of the genomic region encompassing exon(s) 2-8 of the AR gene. The 5' boundary is likely confined to intron 1. The 3' end of this event is unknown as it extends through the termination codon beyond the assayed region for this gene and may encompass additional genes. While this deletion is not anticipated to lead to nonsense mediated decay, it is expected to alter mRNA translation or result in a truncated protein product. A similar copy number variant has been observed in individuals with clinical features of androgen insensitivity syndrome (PMID: 8990010; Invitae). This variant is also known as deletion of exons B-H. For these reasons, this variant has been classified as Pathogenic.
