NM_030962.4(SBF2):c.136G>C (p.Glu46Gln) was classified as Uncertain significance for Inborn genetic diseases by Ambry Genetics, citing Ambry Variant Classification Scheme 2023: The p.E46Q variant (also known as c.136G>C), located in coding exon 2 of the SBF2 gene, results from a G to C substitution at nucleotide position 136. The glutamic acid at codon 46 is replaced by glutamine, an amino acid with highly similar properties. This amino acid position is highly conserved in available vertebrate species. In addition, the in silico prediction for this alteration is inconclusive. Since supporting evidence is limited at this time, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear.
