The available data on variant occurrences in the general population are insufficient to allow any conclusion about variant significance. c.455C>G has been observed in two individuals, a father and son, with foveal hypoplasia and slightly subnormal visual acuity who were found to be affected with a very mild clinical presentation of Oculocutaneous Albinism following extensive genotypic and phenotypic characterization (Rocca_2022). This report does not provide unequivocal conclusions about association of the variant with Oculocutaneous Albinism. To our knowledge, no experimental evidence demonstrating an impact on protein function has been reported.
