Algorithms developed to predict the effect of sequence changes on RNA splicing suggest that this variant may disrupt the consensus splice site. This variant is also known as c.1125+1del. This variant has not been reported in the literature in individuals affected with TAT-related conditions. This variant is not present in population databases (gnomAD no frequency). This sequence change creates a premature translational stop signal (p.Val376Leufs*21) in the TAT gene. It is expected to result in an absent or disrupted protein product. Loss-of-function variants in TAT are known to be pathogenic (PMID: 9544843).
